Stapleton nursery children celebrate graduation

Children from High Bank Day Nursery in Stapleton enjoy their graduation.

The sun shone on a special graduation ceremony held for youngsters at a nursery’s pre-school.

The group of children from High Bank Day Nursery in Stapleton, near Darlington proudly donned red gowns and mortarboards for the outdoor ceremony which marked their move to primary school.

Watched by their parents, the children received rolls of honour from the pre-school staff before enjoying a picnic tea and entertainment from a magician.

Hayley Grainger, manager of High Bank Nursery, said: “We were very lucky with the weather and it meant we could have the ceremony in the grounds of the nursery and the children could enjoy their tea outside.

“It’s always sad to say goodbye to our pre-school children as they move up to their primary schools but it was lovely to be able to give them a special day to remember.

“Everyone at nursery wishes them all the best as they embark on their new adventure.”
