
The Station Cinema has announced its half-term line up with international, British and Hollywood new releases showing.
The latest blockbuster release from Walt Disney, The Little Mermaid, a live action remake of the 1989 animation based on the fairy tale by Hans Christian Anderson.
Dan Westgarth, cinema manager, said: “It’s full of musical numbers, spectacular scenes and lots of colourful underwater friends with lovely touches of nostalgia to the original classic.”
Pamfir, a Ukrainian crime thriller with an occult twist, a story of one man’s doomed efforts to settle back into family life after returning home from abroad that has had good reviews from critics, will play select shows during the week with English subtitles.
The cinema will also show, The Book Club: The Next Chapter which stars Hollywood royalty Diane Keaton & Jane Fonda, along with The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry, Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 3 and The Super Mario Bros Movie.
Dan added: “Continuing the Up North Film season, which aims to show the range of films from May to July which showcase fantastic locations set in and around the North of England. Swallows and Amazons screens during the week, with Lake District landscapes and childhood imagination it’s a perfect afternoon escape.
“And if you are looking for some theatre, well there’s an encore for the National Theatre’s Best Of Enemies on Thursday afternoon, and a screening of Vermeer: The Greatest Exhibition on Wednesday.”
