The Station Cinema has thanked the local community for its support during the pandemic as it announces a busy schedule of half-term movies.
The three-screen independent cinema has a host of movies for families and adults to watch during the break.
Secret Garden (based off the 1911 novel of the same name) starring Colin Firth and Julie Walters releases on Friday, October 23.
Listings also include the animated comedy, Two By Two Overboard along with feline fun in Cats & Dogs: Paws Unite rounding out some entertaining movies for families to enjoy.
The cinema is currently applying for a grant to the BFI Culture Recovery Fund For Independent Cinemas.
This grant in partnership with the Department of Digital, Culture, Media and Sport has been set up to help with ongoing cinema costs as audience numbers and incomes fall due to the pandemic.
The cinema has already received a letter of recommendation from Chancellor and Richmond MP Rishi Sunak.
The MP said: “The Station Cinema plays a very important part in the cultural life of Richmond and the wider area of North Yorkshire that it serves.”
Cinema manger Dan Westgarth said: “The outpouring of support from the local community for the cinema has been overwhelming in this very difficult period for all businesses.
“The team is striving despite the larger films being delayed, to bring new and exciting content for all ages.
“We’ve most recently put on sale some of our Christmas season, with a pyjama party for the Polar Express.
“This sold out within a few hours. We’ve since had to add multiple shows to accommodate demand. It’s fantastic to see people recognizing the importance of supporting local independent cinemas and enjoying the escapism of film since we’ve reopened.”
As part of its cultural offerings, the cinema has already begun ticket sales for Bolshoi Ballet, notably The Nutcracker in December, Little Mix: LM5 & Katherine Jenkins: Christmas Spectacular after great success with the rescheduled Michael Ball & Alfie Boe event.
Tickets are on sale now for all the movies and events listed above at www.stationcinema.com or alternatively you can phone the box office on 01748 823062.
