Steam from a shower set off a fire alarm in a house in Richmond yesterday.
Fire4fighters from the town were called to an address in Coronation Place at about 7.45pm afyer a report of an alarm sounding and smoke.
The crew carried out a thorough check and found no sign of smoke or fire in the property.
A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “The alarms were believed to have been activated by steam from a shower.
“Crews carried out a safe and well check with the occupant and advised the alarms be checked by the local council.”
