Police are appealing for information after a stone saw was stolen from a vehicle near Middleham.
The theft happened at about 2pm on Wednesday, August 5, at Ulshaw, near Middleham, where building work was being carried out on a farm.
A Stihl TS-410 stone saw, which is orange and white, was stolen from the vehicle.
North Yorkshire Police are urging anyone who witnessed the theft or has information that could help identify those responsible to come forward.
The force has also reminded motorists and tradespeople to take simple precautions to help prevent vehicle thefts. Drivers are advised to remove keys whenever a vehicle is unattended and never leave them near the vehicle. Where possible, vehicles should be parked as close to premises as possible, ideally in a garage or a well-lit area.
Police also recommend always locking vehicles and ensuring doors, windows, boots and sunroofs are secure before leaving them unattended.
