Storehouse opens community shop for those in need

Free food is available this afternoon at a community shop run by the Influence Church’s Storehouse.

The shop is open at the church in Victoria Road, Richmond, from 1pm to 3pm and 4pm to 6pm today.

Suz Gregory, from the church, said: “Whilst there are people in need in our community we will continue to do what we can to meet those needs.

“So today will be running the community shop — this is where people within the local community can come to shop for free.

“We realise this second lockdown has put people under greater financial pressure, whether it be through loss of income, job loss, being furloughed or even having to feed children in isolation at home who would usually get free school dinners.

“The community shop is open to anyone in need.

“We do not have everything a normal shop would offer but we have a large variety of non-perishable food that is all free and available to anyone in need of extra food at this time.

“No questions asked and no need to book just come along on during our opening times.”
