Richmond Triathlon Club members are again hitting the spotlight with their results from around the country.
Last week it was the start of the Stockton Trail Series and the first one was held at Preston park over 5k with new member Daniel Francis having an excellent run to finish in 5th.
At Catterick Parkrun, Kyle Rabjohn smashed his parkrun personal best finishing in 2nd (17:19).
This story continues after the adverts:
He was followed closely by Daniel Francis also taking a big chunk of his PB in 3rd (17:39).
Thomas Greer also had a great run in 37th place with another huge pb (24:17). Ali Chisholm was just behind in 40th (24:53).
Dominic Wilford swam at Durham Medley Gala achieving PB’s throughout the course of the day.
Two members travelled to the Team GB European Sprint Distance qualifying duathlon at Bedford Autodrome and in cold windy conditions that were not forecast, they both did really well against a top class field.
Will Smith finished 4th in age and took the third automatic qualifying spot.
Sam Kettlebell was a very good 10th in age group and qualifies through the roll down system. Both will now go on to represent Team GB U20s in Ibiza next year, a trip that is sure to please the mums and dads.
With Sam qualifying that is three members this season gaining national recognition for the club.
If you have aspirations to represent your country or even just give triathlon a go the club now has places available for new members.
Restructuring their swimming through extra lane space and continuing support from Richmondshire Leisure Trust places are now available without the wait.
