Susan Town has won this year’s Past Lady Captains’ Trophy at Richmond Golf Club.

The annual competition was held on Wednesday, September 23, with former lady captains taking part in a 12-hole Stableford competition.

Susan produced an excellent score of 26 points to take the trophy, while Susan Stocks Gibson won the Nearest the Pin prize.

The Past Lady Captains’ Trophy has been a fixture in the club calendar for almost four decades.

It was first introduced in 1988 by that year’s lady captain, Susan Mackellar, and has continued as an opportunity for former captains to come together and compete.

Following this year’s golf, the players enjoyed afternoon tea at the club, providing an opportunity to catch up and reminisce about their time at Richmond Golf Club.

Organisers said it had been a day of “golf and friendship with plenty of memories” and were delighted to see the tradition continuing.
