Four suspected poachers have been spoken to by police after a report of a group hunting rabbits.
Police received a report of a group lamping rabbits near Preston-under-Scar and Redmire on Friday evening.
Officers searched the area and a car containing four suspects, four dogs and eight rabbits was located.
PCSO Sharon Diamond, from Richmondshire neighbourhood policing team, said: “All of the occupants were spoken to in relation to poaching and have now been reported for poaching offences.
“The rabbits and lamp have both been seized and the occupants have been sent on their way and followed out of the area.
“Without the continuing hard work of the watch group members and the police working together, we would not have been aware of the poachers in the area or have been able to follow up with such swift action.”
