The Old Vicarage, a self-catering holiday home near Richmond in Swaledale, has received a prestigious customer service award from VisitEngland, the country’s official tourist board.
The ROSE Award in Recognition of Service Excellence is made annually to only 100 accommodation providers across England out of the 20,000 establishments assessed under VisitEngland’s nationally recognised quality rating scheme.
Now in their fourth year, the awards put the spotlight on those accommodation providers who give visitors the warmest of welcomes and go above and beyond to make customers’ experiences extra special.
VisitEngland director, Patricia Yates, said: “From B&Bs in beautiful countryside and glamorous glamping, to boutique hotels to quintessentially English pubs with rooms, a range of outstanding accommodation providers right across the country are being recognised (by the award).
“It is the human touch that these people provide that make visitors’ experiences memorable, ensuring repeat business and helping the industry thrive.”
The Old Vicarage near Marrick currently holds a 5-star Gold Award under the VisitEngland rating scheme, an accolade that it has achieved each year since it re-opened in 2010 under the present ownership.
On receiving the award, Old Vicarage owner, Julia Carr, said: “We are extremely proud to have been recognised in this way.
