Swaledale Mountain Rescue Team volunteers called to help injured walker

Volunteers from Swaledale Mountain Rescue Team were called out today to rescue an injured walker.

The walker had slipped on a muddy path near Keld in Swaledale.

They had suffered a nasty ankle injury.

The team arrived on scene to be met by a German doctor on holiday in the area who was treating the walker.

The team was then joined by road and the Yorkshire Air Ambulance crews.

The casualty was treated at the scene before being evacuated by stretcher to the air ambulance for transport to hospital.

Swaledale Mountain Rescue Team is made solely of volunteers and are funded by donations.
