Swaledale Youth Club enjoys first trip out

Swaledale Youth Club has organised its first trip taking eight members to see Diversity perform their new tour Genesis at Newcastle’s Metro Arena.

It was the club’s first trip since opening less than a year ago and it was a great success, say organisers.

The group enjoyed going out for lunch, visiting the Angel of the North monument before watching some breathtaking dancing by Diversity who won Britain’s got Talent back in 2009.

Seth Baron, who went on the trip, said: “It was the best day ever. It was an amazing performance and I loved every second of it with amazing people.”

Sacha Cole added: “I’m so glad I went it was amazing.

“The performance was amazing and has a good time with the people that went.”

The club runs every other Thursday at Reeth Memorial Hall, 6:30pm to 8:30pm for young people aged 11 to 16 and is free.

There are lots of fun activities to get involved in which change each session and space to relax and socialise.

The club is in need of a couple of new adult volunteers to help run sessions and ensure it continues its good work.

As the club is affiliated to North Yorkshire Youth, a local youth association, funded by North Yorkshire County Council to support community youth provision, all volunteers will receive ongoing support and training.
