Swimming club raises money for new starting blocks

Head coach Chris Dove and fundraising leader Amy Simeon.

Members of Richmond Dales Amateur Swimming Club have worked together to raise enough money for new starting blocks.

The £6,000 blocks were bought after some hard work and dedication from the club’s fundraising team, headed by Amy Simeon.

The six new starting blocks will be used at Richmond Swimming Pool.

The blocks, supplied by Steelline in Sheffield, will be used by all the swimmers at the club during training sessions at the Richmondshire Leisure Trust pool.

Chris Dove, Richmond Dales head coach, thanked the fundraising team and the club’s parents for all their hard work and support.

He said: “It’s absolutely amazing that the club receives so much support from Fundraising team and our parents.

“These starting blocks will enhance the training environment and greatly help our swimmers achieve their potential.”
