A charity is looking for teams to enter its annual golf day at a prestigious course.

Herriot Hospice Homecare is staging the golf day at Rockliffe Hall Golf Club, Hurworth, near Darlington, on Friday 19th May.

It follows the successful first staging of the event at Rockliffe Hall in 2016.

The golf day will consist of teams of four playing 18 holes of golf, with the Stableford points system being used for scoring. There will be challenges and prizes along the way, including nearest to the pin and longest drive.

As well as the golf, those taking part will receive a bacon roll and tea/coffee on arrival, followed by a two-course meal in the five-star hotel’s Clubhouse restaurant in the evening. The cost for a team is £350.

Paula Moore, assistant fundraiser for Herriot Hospice Homecare, said: “This is a popular event in our fundraising calendar and we are hoping for as much support as possible again this year.

“The feedback we received from people who took part last year was fantastic, as not everyone gets the chance to play golf on such a prestigious course, as well as being able to enjoy an amazing meal at the end.

“The money we raise will go towards supporting the work we do providing care and support for people with terminal illnesses in their own home in Richmondshire and Hambleton, as well as other important services such as bereavement counselling.”
