Teenager Kassandra Jeffels is to perform in the English Youth Ballet’s production of Coppelia at Darlington’s Hippodrome this April.
The 15-year-old Risedale Sports & Community College student has been attending Step By Step Dance School in Catterick Garrison for more than seven years.
Kassandra successfully auditioned for Coppelia alongside other talented students and rehearsals have now begun for the performance this spring.

Kassandra’s mother Yvonne Jeffels said: “We’re so proud of what Kassandra has accomplished.
“She has put a lot of hard work and determination into her dance studies.
“We can’t wait to see her on stage.”
As well as attending her own classes in ballet, tap, modern and musical theatre, Kassandra helps to teach the younger students three times a week at her dance school.
Kassandra has also been a part of the Richmond Pantomime for the last two years and is looking forward to auditioning again this year.
Head of PE at Risedale Selina Brierley said: “We’re incredibly proud of Kassie.
“She’s a fantastic dancer and a credit to the school.
“We wish her well in all her future endeavours.”
The Hippdrome bills Coppelia as “an evening with sparklingly original choreography, colourful costumes and boasting 100 talented young local dancers in the cast, this brilliant production comes to the Darlington Hippodrome. Coppelia, a worldwide favourite, promises to be a magical evening of ballet”.
The show will be staged on April 13 and 14.
