Swaledale Mountain Rescue Team was called out to an unusual incident today by police.
Police requested assistance for 10 walkers reported to be trapped in a shooting hut on Preston Moor, in Wensleydale.
With limited information available, team members were dispatched to the location to investigate.
On arrival, they discovered that the doors to the hut had been bolted shut from the outside, leaving the group temporarily unable to get out.
The ten walkers were soon released from their unexpected confinement and were understandably relieved.
It is believed the hut had either been locked without realising it was occupied or as part of a prank.
Fortunately, no one was injured and, apart from being a little damp, the walkers were able to continue and complete their hike without further issue.

How would it be possible not to know there were 10 people inside? It was not a prank but malicious false imprisonment.
