Shoppers in Catterick Garrison will have the chance to meet a group of therapy dogs next week as part of a special fundraising event.
Volunteers from Jack and Pals Therapy Dogs will be at Tesco on Monday, April 27, from 10am.
Visitors will be able to meet a range of dogs, including Border Collies, Golden Retrievers, a Poodle and a Tibetan Terrier, while learning more about the role therapy dogs play and how to get involved.
A raffle will also be held during the day, with prizes including a pamper basket, a dog hamper and a voucher for two people to attend a race meeting at Catterick Racecourse.
Wendy Withington, one of the group’s founders, said the event would be easy to spot.
She said: “The group will be by the main exit so it will be hard for shoppers to miss us. Come along and buy some tickets for the raffle at just £1 a strip or just donate if you can.
“This is a fundraiser for us but also gives us the chance to show how you can join our happy group.”
There will also be an information table and banners set up both inside and outside the store.
Organisers have thanked Tesco’s community champion for helping to arrange the event.
