Police say two men have been arrested after a thief in a wheelchair allegedly stole Champagne in Richmond today.
Although the man was in a wheelchair, police said they did not believed he was disabled and may have been using the chair to assist with the theft.
At about 1pm today two men entered the Co-op in Richmond Market Place.
During their time in the shop they stole four bottles of Champagne.
A police spokesman said: “One was in a wheelchair although not believed to be disabled.”
At 1.40pm two men were located and arrested in the Catterick area and the Champagne was recovered.
