Police were called to reports of someone trying to break into a vehicle in Richmond last night.
Officers were called to the incident in the Beechfield Road area of the town at 2am.
Police say the would-be thief or thieves were disturbed during the attempted break-in.
More units were called to search the area, although it is understood the suspects were not found.
A glove was recovered from the scene.
