Thieves steal 11 bottles of alcohol from Leyburn Co-op

Police are hunting thieves who stole 11 bottles of alcohol from the Co-op in Leyburn today.

The incident happened at 1.59pm.

Three men left in a vehicle, registration NJ58 JVY, after the incident.

The vehicle has been described as a white SUV or white panel van.

They were seen heading towards Richmond or Catterick Garrison and then possibility towards the Hambleton area.

One of the men was heavily built and was wearing a red parka jacket with a dark t-shirt, dark jeans and a black trainers. He was aged around 40.

The second male was shorter and aged around 50. He was wearing a black t-shirt with an Adidas logo, black trainers and black jeans.

The third male was aged 40 to 50 and was wearing a black baseball cap, black puffa jacket with a white t-shirt and a pair of Thorne lace up shoes.

Anyone with information should call North Yorkshire Police on 101 and quote job number 227 and today’s date.

The incident comes a day after thieves broke into the Co-op in Catterick Village using sledgehammers.
