Families looking for an affordable day out during the school holidays will have three opportunities to enjoy racing and free entertainment at Catterick Racecourse this summer.
The racecourse’s popular Family Days return with a packed programme of activities alongside afternoon Flat racing, with under-18s admitted free to every fixture.
The first event is the Go Racing in Yorkshire Summer Festival Family Day on Wednesday, July 22, which forms part of the county-wide racing festival sponsored by Sky Bet.
Before the first race at 2.07pm, jockeys will take part in the Paddock n’ Chips football skills competition in the Parade Ring to raise money for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance. Visitors will also be able to meet jockeys and collect autographs.
Children can enjoy free attractions including Derby Hoppers, the Extreme Area, a bouncy castle, face painting and soft play, while adults can visit a special exhibition celebrating 50 years of Go Racing in Yorkshire.
The second Family Day takes place on Tuesday, August 4, when the racecourse teams up once again with the Army Benevolent Fund for its annual Salute Our Heroes Family Day.
Military personnel and their families will receive complimentary admission, with six races on the card from 2.15pm. Off the track, families can enjoy a laser battle zone, inflatable assault course, face painting, a bouncy castle and soft play.
The summer programme concludes with Family Sports Day on Monday, August 17, when young visitors can take part in the return of the popular egg and spoon race before racing begins at 2.15pm.
Other free attractions include crazy golf, a penalty shootout, inflatable darts and face painting, while families are welcome to bring picnics into the Course Enclosure.

Adult tickets start from £8 when booked in advance, with discounts available for groups, students, military personnel and those aged over 65. Free parking is available.
