Tickets have gone on sale for Dalton Amateur Dramatic Society’s annual panto.
Following the success of Puss in Boots last year, rehearsals are now underway for the groups 23rd annual pantomime, Rapunzel.
Co-directors, Rebecca Blenkiron and Adam Wallis, are back for their third production following their silliness at the helm of Peter Pan and Puss in Boots.
Rapunzel will be staged with four performances over three days, on February 16, 17 and 18.
The directors said: “We love the work of script writer Alex Jackson.
“He has a funny, modern twist on classic pantomimes.
“He also gives us the freedom to create our own material and adapt the script to suit our cast.
“We have our traditional mix of goodies, baddies and everyone in between. The traditional comedy duo has diversified to a comedy trio and it works wonderfully alongside our pantomime dame and her son.”
The pantomime tells the tale of Princess Rapunzel.
Her parents, King and Queen of Brushington, organise her a lavish 18th birthday party with princes from all the realms. But Princess Rapunzel has already met and fallen in love with Flynn Perm.
Flynn is the good looking, but humble, son of Penny Perm and seeks the attention of Rapunzel at her party.
Penny Perm, owner of Blow ‘n Go hair salon, helps the royal jesters, big Bob, little bob and Bob, to prepare for the party.
Fairy Dreadlock, however, has other plans. Plotting to kidnap Rapunzel and lock her in a tower.
This pantomime tells the tale, of the operation to recover Princess Rapunzel with the help of Fairy Hair-Do. Over the show you will follow the efforts to save the Princess and will it end in happily ever after?
Tickets are available online here.
Ticket will also be available to buy in person at Dalton Village Hall on Sunday, January 29 between 10am and 12noon.
