Tickets on sale for Abba party night in Richmond

An ABBA party night will be held in Richmond later this month to raise funds for charity.

The event is being staged at Richmondshire Cricket Club on Saturday, March 30.

There will be a prize for the best fancy dress, singing, dancing, a live ABBA tribute, photo booth, a charity raffle and local business Skinny Guys Pizza will be joining the event, offering freshly made woodfired pizza.

It is being organised by Richmond-based events company Already Sorted Ltd, which have more than 20 years of experience in providing hire solutions for live events.

They provide stage, sound and lights, band equipment, large scale venue transformation theming, dining decor and live entertainment.

Director Tim Tavanyar said: “We are well established in equipping events regularly for customers, and are inspired by what ordinary people can make possible by reaching out, looking out for each other and standing up together.

“So we are using our assets and talent proactively to host our own Solidarity events, in order to help make a positive difference to local lives.

“Our solidarity events are creating new places for good-hearted inclusive fun for a whole range of people in our community to enjoy.

“Solidarity’s fundraising events promote involvement and mutual support. We want to help those in our community feeling miserable, lonely or overwhelmed and we welcome everyone, dancing queens and super troupers, to our solidarity ABBA party, and to groove to the iconic tunes of ABBA.”

Tim added: “Each event will make a consistent donation to our chosen important charities, which help people around here.

“The donations come from the charity fundraising activities that we arrange, and with the supporting involvement of some brilliant small local businesses.

“The event will support six local and national charities including, CALM, Refuge, Respect, Colburn Foodshare, Scotty’s Little Soldiers and PDSA, and will feature a raffle on the evening, from which all proceeds will be divided equally between the six charities. That’s what it’s about.”
