Tickets on sale for RADS’ The Clink

RADS members rehearse for The Clink.

Tickets are now available for the Richmond Amateur Dramatic Society (RADS) production of The Clink by Stephen Jeffreys.

This black comedy is set around the time of Queen Elizabeth I’s death and features a fool, Lucius Bodkin, who fancies having a go at being an alternative comedian but instead becomes the innocent victim of some political skulduggery.

This is the first time that this play has ever been performed in the North.

This story continues after the adverts:

Director Mike Walkersaid: “Having the opportunity to direct the Northern amateur premiere of The Clink is an honour.

“Full of cracking one-liners, this play is a bawdy romp with a dark heart, featuring some hilarious set-pieces which would appeal to any Blackadder fan.”

The Clink has moments of high tension punctuated with delicate writing contrasting what it means to lead and what it means to be caught in the middle of a power struggle.

The play also contains new music especially written for RADS.

The Clink is being performed at the Georgian Theatre Royal, Richmond on Thursday 9, Friday 10 and Saturday 11, November.

You can book tickets via the website or call the box office on 01748 825252.

Tickets are from £7.50 to £13.
