The UK’s highest pub is set to host an impressive line-up of tribute acts and comedians over the coming months.
The Tan Hill Inn has unveiled a packed programme of music and comedy featuring award-winning performers, alongside its regular weekly live music nights.
Every Thursday, the historic 17th-century pub hosts a buskers’ night, showcasing local musicians, while its barn venue comes alive every Friday and Saturday with tribute acts, live bands and monthly comedy evenings.
On Saturday, July 26, award-winning comedian Chris Washington, who has enjoyed success at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, will headline a comedy night. He will be joined by Tom Wrigglesworth, a familiar voice on BBC Radio 4 who has performed at comedy festivals around the world.
Music fans can also look forward to a wide variety of tribute acts celebrating artists including Fleetwood Mac, Bruce Springsteen, ABBA, Lady Gaga and Bryan Adams, as well as performances inspired by The Stranglers, Green Day, Foo Fighters and a Yorkshire take on Guns N’ Roses.
The entertainment programme will continue throughout the year, culminating in a festive performance by the Yorkshire Oompah Band on Saturday, December 12.
Tickets for tribute shows start from £15, with the full programme available on the Tan Hill Inn website.
Owner Andrew Hields said the venue’s unique setting deserved an equally distinctive entertainment programme.
“The Tan Hill is such a unique venue that it makes sense for us to have unique entertainment,” he said.
“We’ve devised a programme that covers every single musical genre so there is something for everyone.
“And there’s the added bonus that if people want to make a night of it, they can stay over and enjoy the full Tan Hill experience.”
