Hundreds of plastic bottles recycled into an artwork for the visit of the Tour de Yorkshire have been moved to Richmond as part of celebrations for Armed Forces Week.
Local people, community groups, schoolchildren and businesses joined forces to turn the bottles into flowers to create a replica of the Catterick Rose at the Garrison Stadium.
It took around three weeks for the volunteers to collect and recycle the bottles and then paint them red, white and gold.
Now the rose is in place in the gardens on Station Road in Richmond for this week’s armed forces celebrations.
Members of the Richmondshire District Council staff who arranged for it to be moved to the town are pictured with the rose artwork.
