Transporter full of cars leaves road on Stang

A transporter full of cars crashed in snowy conditions on the Stang this week.

The road runs between Arkengarthdale and the A66 near Bowes.

It is understood the HGV was heading north towards the trans-Pennine road went it failed to navigate a bend.

The accident happened on Tuesday afternoon.

The vehicle was removed on Wednesday.

Mud has been left on the road and motorists using the route have been urged to take extra care.

  1. I was caught out on that corner when I had my ABS on in icy conditions I slid into an embankment unable to stop,no harm done.

  2. Nobody in this country wants trucks until there is no food on the shelves,it would only need a couple of weeks strike and the country would be on its knees
