A Tudor singing workshop with Richmond musicians Susanna Pell and Jake Heringman — aka Pellingman’s Saraband — will take place in the town this Saturday.

The pair are specialists in 16th and 17th century music and for the past 30 years have played in venues the world over.

Organisers of the event say their performances cover a wide range from major collaborations in the early music movement to the sound-tracks of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban and The Hobbit, to work with Joni Mitchell and with Kate Bush.

The workshop, which is for 20 people, will be held in St Mary’s Church, Richmond as part of the celebrations for Richmond 950.

The ability to read music is not necessary.

Following the workshop Pellingmans Saraband and the singers will perform in a concert and the evening will end with a peal of bells by St Mary’s Bellringers.
