Tunstall open gardens event raise more than £1,600

The residents of Tunstall near Catterick Garrison have held their most successful open gardens event yet.

The event last weekend raised more than £1,600 for Tunstall Village Hall.

The organisers have thanked everyone who helped at the event, those who donated raffle prizes, and the many people who came to enjoy the gardens or the Saturday evening concert.

The event was promoted on a free website opengardens.co.uk which resulted in visitors attending from as far afield as Kendal, Hull, Washington and Wakefield.

As well as the community garden TIGER project and the village gardens, visitors also followed a boot trail around the village, where a variety of planted boots were on display.
