Two people have been arrested following a quad bike theft in Swaledale
The Honda quad was taken early yesterday morning in a burglary in the Muker to Thwaite area.
Sergeant Lauren Wilkinson, from Richmondshire neighbourhood policing team, said: “Through information received by the public we have identified two suspects believed to be responsible for the theft.
“Both were arrested yesterday evening for conspiracy to commit burglary and are currently in our cells awaiting interview, with enquiries ongoing.”
One of the suspects in custody has also been further arrested for three burglaries in the Richmondshire area which police believe him to be responsible for which occurred a few weeks ago.
Sgt Wilkinson added: “The information we receive from the public through appeals made is invaluable.
“With your help two prolific burglars are currently detained and have been stopped from committing further offences.
“My ask of you now is to continue to keep your eyes open for the stolen quad which is still missing.
“We know the quad bike was active and driving anti socially in the Barton/Stapleton and Darlington area yesterday, and although we have two suspects in custody, there’s every chance the quad could now be in someone else’s hands being driven.”
