Two men in court over rape of teenage girl at Richmond Falls

Teesside Crown Court.

Two men have appeared in court charged respectively with rape and attempted rape of a teenage girl at Richmond Falls.

William Calvert, 21, and Rod Sheader, 20, appeared at Teesside Crown Court yesterday when they denied all allegations.

Mr Calvert, of Thirsk Road, Stokesley, is accused of raping and sexually assaulting the under-age girl but denies the allegations.

Mr Sheader, of Coast Road, Hartlepool, is charged with attempting to rape and sexually assaulting the girl, but he too denies the allegations. 

The alleged offences are alleged to have occurred in Richmond in June 2021. 

His Honour Judge Armstrong adjourned the case for a trial starting on July 26, 2027.

The two defendants were released on bail until that date.
