Under 30s being offered Covid-19 vaccine at Richmondshire hub

People aged between 18 and 30 are beginning to receive invites for their Covid-19 vaccine jab at Richmondshire’s vaccination hub.

Local GP practices say the hub at Tennants at Leyburn has supplies of the Pfizer vaccine, which experts have recommended for younger people.

Leyburn Medical Practice says it is inviting cohort 12 (18 to 30-year-olds) for their vaccination in age descending order.

A spokesperson said: “We have access to appointments for the Pfizer vaccine (now recommended for younger people) at Tennants – please respond to the text to either book or decline the vaccine.

“If you have updated your mobile number since you last contacted the practice or have never provide a mobile number please contact us by either calling 01969 622391 or complete an admin query online form https://florey.accurx.com/p/B82078 to provide your updated contact details.”

Central Dales Practice, which has surgeries in Aysgarth and Hawes, says it is also also inviting younger patients for their jab by text and phone.

It added: “We don’t want any vaccine being wasted. We also don’t want anyone to miss out.

“If you’ve had an invite and want the vaccine – please use the link and book your appointment. Don’t delay — we can’t guarantee how long we will have access to Pfizer.”
