Police have seized a vehicle in Catterick after officers discovered it was being driven without insurance or a valid MOT.
The vehicle was stopped by Catterick’s Neighbourhood Policing Team during proactive evening patrols after it attracted the attention of a local Police Community Support Officer (PCSO).
Checks revealed the vehicle had no insurance and no MOT, and officers seized it at the roadside.
A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police said: “The message is simple: if you’re going to drive on the roads of North Yorkshire, then ensure your vehicle is road legal, or risk it being seized and gaining points on your licence.”
The force said the operation forms part of increased patrols taking place across North Yorkshire during the 2026 World Cup to help keep the county’s roads safe.
