Vandalised toilets reopen in Richmond

The toilets at the Falls in Richmond have reopened.

A block of toilets blighted by vandalism have reopened.

The Falls public conveniences in Richmond were closed in April after extensive damage was caused.

But as part of Richmondshire District Council’s £100,000 public toilet improvement programme new hand washing facilities and urinals have been installed, they have been redecorated and external improvements have been made. CCTV cameras have also been installed.

The programme – which included investment in 13 other public toilets – was funded from business rates pooling.

“This project has provided a much welcomed face lift for our public toilets and will ensure they remain fit for purpose in the years to come,” said Council Leader, Councillor Angie Dale, pictured with ward members Councillors Stuart Parsons and Clive World.
