The MP for Richmond and Northallerton has visited a long-established family business in Catterick Garrison that provides specialist services to the military community.

Rishi Sunak was welcomed to Victoria Prints to meet the family behind the company and hear about its growth and future ambitions.

Founded in 2005 at the family kitchen table, the business has expanded steadily over the past two decades. It first operated from a market stall in Catterick before moving into its current premises, where it now offers bespoke framing, military presentation pieces and professional medal mounting for both military and civilian customers.

During the visit, Mr Sunak met founder Ian Sixsmith and family members Graham Prince MBE and Sandra Prince. He was shown around the workshop, introduced to members of staff — including veterans now employed by the company — and even tried his hand at framing a piece himself, gaining insight into the craftsmanship involved.

Victoria Prints has built a strong reputation for preserving treasured memories, from military medals and regimental cap badges to sporting memorabilia, academic achievements and family photographs.

The visit also highlighted the firm’s plans for further expansion. The company is currently exploring a move to larger premises to accommodate continued growth.

Alongside Victoria Prints, the family has recently launched a new venture, Shutter Bloom, offering photography and printing services. The new business aims to build on the company’s expertise while creating additional opportunities to capture and present significant life events and milestones.

Mr Sunak said: “It was a real pleasure to visit Victoria Prints and see first-hand the remarkable journey this family business has been on. Meeting the team and seeing their craftsmanship up close was inspiring, and it’s clear how much pride they all take in their work.

“Their success, and their exciting plans to expand and launch new ventures like Shutter Bloom, are a fantastic example of the entrepreneurial spirit we are fortunate to have here in Catterick Garrison. I wish them every continued success for the future.”

Ian Sixsmith said it had been an honour to host the local MP.

“What started as a small idea at the kitchen table has become something we are incredibly proud of, supporting both military and civilian customers and employing a fantastic team, including veterans,” he said.

“We were pleased to show him our workshop, talk about our plans to move to larger premises, and introduce our new photography business, Shutter Bloom. It was a special moment for our family and our staff, and we are grateful for his support.”
