The new clip from a nearby house is believed to show the thieves’ pulling up and switching their lights off before the theft.

It is believed footage shows the thieves travel in a 53/54 Citroen Picasso.

Other footage from the victim’s property shows the pair arriving in a vehicle.

They slow down near the van and then turn the vehicle’s lights off. They then apparently park just out of sight of the camera.

The pair, who appear to be young men with one wearing a North Face hoodie, then return and break into the van.

While one acts as lookout, the other carries a large amount of tools and equipment back to their vehicle.

At one point the pair appear to high-five each other.

The thieves removed the tools from their boxes and discarded the boxes in a nearby garden before putting the equipment in their own vehicle.

The van’s owner, who asked not to be named, said it was mainly small power tools which had been left in the van.

He said the incident had left him unnerved as he and his wife had been sleeping in a bedroom nearby with an open window and had not heard the theft took place.

It is understood a van in the nearby St Nicholas estate was broken into on the same night but the thieves were disturbed.

Police are investigating the incidents.
