Vintage cards of the Dales feature in an exhibition at the Garden Rooms at Tennants in Leyburn.
The venue has been loaned 45 vintage photographic postcards depicting the Dales by local collector Clive Torrens.
Predominantly dating from 1900 to 1925, all the postcards were produced by Leyburn photographer JB Smithson and offer an insight into life in the area a century ago.
John Brown Smithson (1848-1938) operated his business from Leyburn from the 1870s until his death, but also ran a studio at the army camp at Scotton during the First World War.

Collecting postcards is a long-standing pastime and good private collections frequently come up for sale at Tennants’ Stamps, Postcards and Postal History Sales.
The next sale is on March 4.
The postcards have been reproduced in the exhibition on a larger scale for ease of viewing.
