Volunteers drivers wanted for community transport scheme

Volunteer drivers are wanted for a community transport scheme in the district.

Stokesley & District Community Care Association is looking for drivers in the Richmond, Catterick and Leyburn areas for its car scheme.

Volunteers take clients to and from medical appointments and to a local dementia care centre.

The scheme aims to help local people who are unable to access public transport due to age, disability or isolation.

A spokesperson said: “Volunteers use their own cars to provide transport, this is a flexible role and we appreciate as much or as little time as you can afford.”

Expenses are paid at 45p per mile to cover fuel and car maintenance costs.

This role is subject to a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check carried out by the charity.

If you would like to volunteer please contact the volunteer co-ordinator on 01642 710085 or email volunteering@stokesleycca.org.uk or for more information visit www.stokesleycca.org.uk
