A community-led housing charity in the Yorkshire Dales is appealing for volunteers to help develop fundraising initiatives as it prepares for future projects.

Upper Dales Community Land Trust (UDCLT), based in Arkengarthdale, is looking for people interested in supporting its work to deliver affordable and sustainable homes for local residents.

The charity was formed to help people with strong connections to the Upper Dales – including those born, living or working in the area – remain in their communities by improving access to housing.

UDCLT has already delivered its first successful affordable homes project in Bainbridge, supported by funding from national and local government alongside backing from North Star Housing Group.

As the organisation begins work on its next development, it says additional fundraising will be essential to support its “ambitious and exciting plans”.

The charity is now seeking volunteers who can help generate ideas for fundraising campaigns, events and resources.

Organisers say the opportunity is open to a wide range of people, including those looking to build experience in the charitable sector, individuals considering a career change, or retirees with time to contribute to a local cause.

They added that volunteers will be supported throughout and will be joining a “friendly” and community-focused team.

Anyone interested in finding out more about the role or how to get involved is encouraged to visit the UDCLT website or get in touch directly by email.
