Volunteers take part in Richmond coronation clean up

Volunteers of all ages braved soggy bank holiday conditions to support the Richmond coronation clean up on Monday.

More than 50 people gathered at the steps of the Town Hall to do their bit to help make Richmond litter free.

Local scouts and  beavers swelled the ranks of the regular Richmond Pride pickers and volunteers from Richmondshire Climate Action Partnership.

The event was organised by Richmond Pride.

It was supported by the Royal British Legion, whose members welcomed back the wet volunteers with free tea and coffee.

All are welcome at the next Richmond Pride litter pick on Sunday, June 4 at 10am from the Town Hall.

The Richmondshire Climate Action Partnership is planning a further litter pick in September.

  1. Clean ups and litter picks wouldn’t be needed if there weren’t so many anti-social people around.
