Volunteers are wanted to help clear a bridleway covered in stone following last week’s floods.
A day of action is planned from 10am on Saturday to clear the route near Langthwaite.
The work is being organised by the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority and the Dales Bike Centre in Fremington.
An appeal has been issued for 50 volunteers to help.
The organisers say: “The sole purpose of this day is to clear and sort stone on the public bridleway South East of Langthwaite village.
“This very picturesque section of bridleway is regularly used by mountain bikers, walkers and horse riders along with local farmers who have stock in fields and the folks that live in dwellings at Storthwaite.
“We’re looking for 50 or so willing volunteers to help pick, sort and shift good ‘walling stone’ from the rubble.
“This will then enable works to secure and re-establish this very important track down the side of Arkle beck. Your help will be greatly appreciated.”
