Volunteers are wanted for a tidy-up of Richmond ahead of this year’s Yorkshire in Bloom bid.

Residents are being encouraged to attend the clean-up on Saturday, June 2 from 10am until midday.

Volunteers are wanted to weed the streets and pick up litter in preparation for the Original Richmond in Bloom 2019 bid for the Yorkshire in Bloom competition.

There will also be a fundraising plant sale in the Market Place on Sunday from 11am to 4pm.

Local companies and organisations to have stalls include Ravensworth Nurseries, JH Meynell and Sons, Just the Job, Broaches Farm and Mandy Own Flowers and Plants.

On sale will be plants, seedlings, cuttings, house plants, unwanted garden tools, and second hand books.
