Walk-in booster jabs available at Leyburn hub

Booster jabs are available this week at Leyburn’s vaccine hub.

Three clinics have been scheduled this week, although NHS officials are hoping to arrange further sessions after last night’s announcement from the Prime Minister.

Boris Johnson issued a new target to give boosters to all adults who want one by the end of the month.

The clinics at Tennants Auctioneers are open to anyone, from anywhere for a booster that had their second Covid-19 vaccine at least three months ago.

The sessions are also open to anyone over 18 years of age who needs a second Pfizer vaccination who had their first jab at least eight weeks ago.

If you have recently had Covid you must wait at least 28 days from your positive result before attending for a second dose or booster.

All boosters are the Pfizer vaccine.

They take place on:

  • Wednesday 15 December 2021
  • Thursday 16 December 2021
  • Friday 17 December 2021

All walk-in clinics  run from 9am to 3pm.

Central Dales Practice said at the weekend that officials were working to schedule further clinics as soon as possible.

A spokesperson said: ” we are working on adding clinics and extending planned clinics at Tennants to give everyone an opportunity to get their second dose or booster before Christmas, following Boris’ announcement last night.

“There’s lots to organise and some of our team were up late into the night and early this morning to make this happen.”

GP surgeries in the district have urged the public not to call them directly about booster jabs as this blocks the lines which causes delays to people who are unwell.
