Police have issued a warning after slug pellets were found in sausages on a popular dog walking route.
The discovery was made on a path near Gilling West.
Local police are urging walkers to be vigilant following the discovery.
A spokesperson for the district’s neighbourhood policing team: “Following a report from a member of the public, we are asking dog walkers to remain vigilant when out and about in the Gilling West area.
“Sausages have been found containing blue pellets which are believed to be slug pellets, placed on the ground along popular walking routes in the village.
“If you see anything suspicious please contact Richmond Neighbourhood Policing Team via 101.” [kofi]
