A weather warning has been issued for snow and ice for much of northern England and Scotland including parts of Richmondshire.
The yellow warning, the lowest warning given by the Met Office, comes into force at 8pm on Monday and lasts until 3pm on Tuesday.
Up to 3cm of snow is forecast on low ground and up to 5cm on the hills over 200m.

Temperatures are predicted to fall to -2C tonight.
The snow is forecast to fall in Richmondshire tomorrow morning between 8am and 12noon.
A Met Office spokesman said: “A spell of rain, quickly turning to sleet and snow, will move southeast across the UK on Monday night and Tuesday, gradually weakening across England and Wales.
“Some roads and railways may be affected with longer journey times by road, bus and train services.”
