Council officials have warned about illegal clothing collections taking place in Richmondshire.
Richmondshire District Council says it has been informed by charity Clothes Aid that collection bags being distributed to households, purporting to be from their collectors, for the charity Bradley Lowery Foundation, are not legal.
It says any items collected will not go to the nominated charity.
A council spokesperson said: “Residents are asked not to fill the bags and put them out for collections as these collectors are illegal and are not working for Clothes Aid or the charity.
” If you receive one of these bags or have information on the collectors, please either contact the Police, tel: 101, Trading Standards, tel: 01609 780 780, or the Council, 01748 829100.”
