Warnings of snow and ice for Richmondshire

Richmondshire could be hit with a fresh blast of wintry weather over the next couple of days.

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for snow and ice for parts of the district.

The warning comes into force at 5pm on Friday and lasts until 9am on Saturday.

Forecasters say it will be wet and windy on Friday morning.

It will then turning increasingly colder with rain turning to snow over the Pennines, then gradually to lower levels during the evening.

The maximum temperature will be 3C and temperatures will fall to around -1C on Friday night.

Further snow showers are then predicted on Saturday and potentially overnight into Sunday.
