A new promotional video for the new Scotch Corner Designer Village has been released.

The video states the complex will open in summer 2020 and will become the leading shopping and leisure destination in the north of England.

It adds: “With a large potential customer base of affluent shoppers, significant tourism numbers and unparalleled location, Scotch Corner Designer Village is a major retail opportunity for outlet shopping.

“The development will be home to premium and best of high street aspirational brands, with plans for an extensive leisure and dining offer from this 100 acre site.”

The video says that research shows the region has the potential to accommodate a new high-quality retail and leisure destination at Scotch Corner, with seven million people loving within a 90-minute drive from the site.

The video is opened by Welcome to Yorkshire chief executive and Richmondshire resident Sir Gary Verity.

The release of the promo video coincides with signage being erected at the site.

  1. I live within 90 minutes, but wouldn’t use it. I’ve got the MetroCentre, Newcastle, Dalton Park, and Gretna just as close. I don’t want the sort of traffic queues on the A1 that some of the other centres generate.
Leave Scotch Corner as a gateway to wonderful countryside, which will always be in demand. Unlike retail units which are gradually dying.
