Water the subject of art exhibition by local artists

Painting by Jo Garlick.

An exhibition that featuring new work by local artists Lynn Ward and Jo Garlick will explore their responses to the theme of water.

The pair have been inspired by rivers, ponds, waterfalls, clouds, puddles and the wildlife within water for the artwork on display.

Lynn paints in both oil and acrylic and is inspired by the landscapes around her.

She says he likes to portray a sense of movement and light is drawn to contrasts, such as stormy skies or shapes and shadows created by a gate or a stone wall.

Jo works in soft pastels, and is interested in British wildlife.

She loves the flexibility that pastel offers and enjoys experimenting with different techniques and ideas to portray texture, movement and light.

The exhibition will be held at the Yore Mill Craft Shop and Gallery at Church Bank, Aysgarth, from April 5 to May 17.
