The Met Office has issued a warning of thunderstorms for a large area of eastern England including Richmondshire.
Storms are forecast to hit the district on Thursday evening and could run into Friday morning before stopping and then returning on Friday afternoon.
The district could face thunder, lightening and showers, as well as hail and the chance of gusty winds.

The Met Office has issued a yellow warning for Friday from 2pm until 11.59pm.
A spokesman said: “Whilst many places are likely to remain dry, there is the potential for thunderstorms to develop during Friday afternoon, lasting well into the evening.
“Where these occur expect torrential downpours with as much as 30mm of rainfall in one hour and 60mm in three hours.
“Large hail and strong, gusty winds will be additional hazards.”
